Before creating KERRY DRAKE, Alfred Andriola took over the artisitic chores on Norman Marsh's Dick Tracy imitator DAN DUNN. Upon the outbreak of the Second World War, Marsh decided to enlist, leaving the strip without an artist.

Publishers Syndicate then chose Andriola to take over the strip, but Andriola would take it over only if he would be given the chance to create his own unique comic character. The syndicate agreed with Andriola's artistic talents debuting in DAN DUNN on January 11, 1943.

This first in a two part series, reprinting the complete Andriola DAN DUNN strips covers 01-11-1943 to 05-30-1943.
